SCHOOL ORAL HEALTH PROGRAMME

7^th & 8^th September 2022

The Department of Public Health Dentistry, Faculty of Dental Sciences, SGT University conducted an oral health screening program on 7^th & 8^th September 2022 at Good Shepherd Pre School Sector 7 Gurugram. The Dental team took initiative under the guidance of Dr. Shourya Tandon (Head of Dept & Associate Dean). On the 7^th September 2022, the Dental team was headed by Dr. Abhinav Bhargava (Department of Public Health Dentistry) along with 2 postgraduates Dr. Parika and Dr. Tabitha (Postgraduate Pedodontics), and 5 Interns Aditi Malhotra, Devika, Anshula, Anjali, Akanksha and 1 attendant Mr. Sunil Singh. On the 8^th September 2022, the Dental team was headed by Dr. Charu Khurana along with 2 postgraduates Dr. Pratibha (Postgraduate student Orthodontics) and Dr. Preetika (Postgraduate Student Oral Medicine and Radiology), and 5 Interns Anjali, Anshu, Anshula, Akshita, Atibha and 1 attendant Mr. Sunil Singh.

A total of 176 and 181 students from classes Prep till 2^nd were examined on the respective days, ensuring a thorough oral health check-up for 357 school children.

Oral Health Education was imparted regarding the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle through brushing techniques, models, and charts. The students who were needy were distributed toothpaste. The purpose of the Oral Health drive was to create awareness among the students and make them understand the importance of oral health care. Students who required dental treatment were referred to SGT Dental hospital for further treatment.
