RURAL ORAL HEALTH PROGRAMME Department of Public Health Dentistry & Periodontology Faculty of Dental Sciences

The Department of Public Health Dentistry of Faculty of Dental Sciences, SGT University organized an oral health screening and treatment program on 22nd December 2021 at Luhari village, Hailey Mandi in collaboration with Publicity Team SGTU. The Dental team took initiative under the guidance of Dr. Shourya Tandon (Prof. & Head). The Dental team was headed by Dr. Anurag Bhatnagar (Senior Lecturer Department of Periodontology) along with 4 Postgraduates Dr. Aishaan (Periodontology), Dr. Ayushi (Oral Surgery), Dr. Mahima (Prosthodontics), and Dr. Deepanshi (Endodontics), and 4 Interns (Sonu, Siddhant, Shweta and Shruti) and 2 Attendants Sunil and Sombir. During the outreach activity, 79 patients were examined out of which 20 were provided dental treatment in the mobile dental van which included 1 restoration, 2 extractions, and 17 scaling/oral prophylaxis. Patients who required complex dental treatment were referred to SGT University for further procedures. Oral health education was imparted to the people and proper brushing technique was demonstrated to all. The purpose of the Oral Health check-up was to create awareness among the community and make them understand the importance of oral health care.
