‘Orthodontics’ the first specialty of dentistry, aims at a broader goal of treating not just the dentition , but the face as a whole. As self esteem is greatly influenced by the face in general and smile in particular , we endeavor to build confidence and improve self esteem of individuals by creating beautiful smiles. Since time immemorial, techniques have been developed and improvised upon to treat a myriad of skeletal and dental problems and our department employs scientifically proven treatment principles and modalities in every patient. Besides doing clinical work of patients, department also does the teaching of under graduate and post graduate students.

Versatile treatment like Invisible braces , Functionl appliances , Orthognathic surgeries and Cleft lip and palate treatment are done in the department on routine basis. The department has state of the art equipment to diagnose, plan treatment and treat the cases of varying malocclusions. The department has computerized cephalometric software(Nemoceph) for a thorough and detailed diagnosis of an orthodontic patient. The digital SLR camera allows for accurate image storage in the two flat screen Dell computers. The department is directly linked with central servers for digital image transfer of OPG and Cephalogram from the department of oral medicine and radiology. The department is spacious enough to have a separate UG and PG section along with faculty rooms and HOD rooms.

Regular CDE’s , webinars and workshops are conducted in department to keep all students updated with the latest research and innovations.
