Ans. Dental public health is the science and art of preventing and controlling dental diseases and promoting oral health through organized community efforts.


Qus 2. What is the scope in Public Health Dentistry?
Ans. It is that form of dental practice that serves the community as a client rather than the individual. It is concerned with dental health education of the public, with applied dental research, and with the administration of group dental care plans, as well as the prevention and control of dental diseases on a community basis.

Qus 3. Is there a clinical component in subject of Public Health Dentistry?
Ans. Yes, there is a direct clinical care component involved in the subject. The subject aims to provide experiences to fulfill the competencies of providing comprehensive oral health care to the patient. Completion of a research projects is one of the critical components.


Qus 4. Which programs does your university offer in Public Health Dentistry?
Ans. The university offers Master’s degree (MDS) as well as a PhD Program in the subject of Public Health Dentistry.

Ans. Currently, the university is permitted to enroll two students per year under master’s program (MDS) and eight students per year under PhD program in the subject.

Ans. The Entrance test for admission in MDS is generally held in the month of December-Jan of the year of admission; followed by interview and Counseling. However, the classes start in the month of July in the year of admission. The Entrance test for admission in PhD is held in the month of July of the year of admission; followed by interview and Counselling. The classes start in the month of August every year.
