Dr. Omkar Shetty

Dr. Omkar K Shetty graduated from A.B Shetty Dental College, Mangalore University in
1995 and completed his master’s degree (MDS) in Prosthodontics in 1997 from A.B Shetty
Dental College, Mangalore University. He had been awarded as the “Most Proactive Dean
of the year 2018” at the International Dental Excellence Awards ceremony by Smile Nation
Organisation. He was also awarded with Mumbai Obstetrics and Gynaecologist Society in
year 2016.
Dr. Shetty is a Certified Implantologist from Germany (1997) & University of Hong Kong
(2019). He is also certified in LASER dentistry. He also completed MBA in “Healthcare
Organisation Operation Specialisation” from Rutgers the State University Of New Jersey
in 2020. He completed Certified Course in “Effective Communication for Today’s
Leaders” from Technologico de Monterrey in 2021. He is an experienced Postgraduate
Teacher and Recognised PhD guide and Examiner. He was on the Board of PG, Clinical, Pre-
Clinical Studies, Board of Examination and Board of Management of Dr. D.Y Patil
University, Nerul, Navi Mumbai.
He has been an academician with 25 years of teaching experience and good management
skills and is in the panel of examiners for both Undergraduate and Postgraduate in
Prosthodontics in various universities.
He was the President of Indian Prosthodontic Society-Mumbai-Navi Mumbai Branch 2019-
20. He had been Dean at Dr. D.Y Patil Dental College, Nerul, Navi Mumbai from 2014-2021
and introduced Fellowship and Various Value-added courses. He had been HOD in
Department of Prosthodontics at D.Y Patil University School of Dentistry, Navi Mumbai,
Maharashtra, India from 2011-2016. He was also Professor at Department of Prosthodontics
at D.Y Patil University School of Dentistry, Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, India. He was
Reader at various Dental Colleges including Modern Dental College, Indore, Madhya
Pradesh, K D Dental College, Mathura and J G Dental College, Akola Maharashtra. He was
an invited speaker in All- India DCI Webinar series and had attended various International
and National Conferences. He was invited as a keynote speaker at National Conferences. He
was the Organising Secretary for 44 th  IPS Conference 2016 and Organising Chairman for
ISPRP Conference in 2016. He also conducted various Hands-on Workshops and Continuing
Dental Education Programmes in Collaboration with the Department. He had keen interest in
Kinesiology, FMR and Occlusion. He has been a contributor for the book “Dental Materials:
Clinical Applications.” He has many publications in National & International journals. He
has been on the Editorial Board of Journal of Indian Prosthodontic Society and also on the
editorial board of International Journal Of Oral Health Dentistry. He is having private
practice in Andheri having clinical experience of nearly 25 years in Implant Dentistry,
Prosthodontics, Occlusion, Aesthetic Dentistry and Kinesiology.
