Report on World Oral Hygiene Day
The Department of Public Health Dentistry of Faculty of Dental Sciences, SGT University celebrated World Oral Hygiene Day on 1st August 2017 at Village Dadri Toie, Haryana. An awareness activity was organised nearby a high school within Dadri village comprising of dental team for oral health checkup and treatment of people. The Dental Check up and treatment activity was headed by Dr. Charu Khurana (Assistant Professor) and Dr. Sonia Raina (Post Graduate Student) along with 5 interns and 1 attendant. Mobile Dental Van of the University was also taken for the event to accomplish the treatment procedures. The event started at 11 am and continued till 2:30 pm. Around 158 patients were examined of which 39 were provided dental treatment in the mobile dental van. Patients who required complex dental treatment were referred to SGT University for further procedures. Along with the Dental Check up and Treatment, Medicines were also distributed to the patients according to their symptoms after check up. The session was concluded by Dr. Sonia on giving oral health education speech to the participated people. The purpose of the Oral Health talk was to create awareness among the community and make them understand the importance of oral health care. Thus, with the efforts of Dental team and the Organizing committee of the SGT University including people who participated wholeheartedly made world Oral Hygiene Day celebration a big success.
