2022

𝟑𝟐 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐬, 𝐚𝐧 𝐀𝐜𝐚𝐝𝐞𝐦𝐢𝐜 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐨𝐜𝐢𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬, conducted a Two day Workshop on “ An In sight into fixed prosthodontics” on 22-23 February 2022. The Guest speaker, Dr. Veena Jain provided a detailed insight to examine and investigate the patient, radiographic interpretation and diagnosis of ailment and treatment planning of the patient. Competitive events included E-Poster competition and DM imagination Challenge.

“𝟑𝟐 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐬, an academic association constituted under the Department of Prosthodontics, SGT University - Faculty of Dental Sciences organised a webinar on ‘𝐕𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐞𝐫𝐬: 𝐇𝐨𝐰, 𝐖𝐡𝐞𝐧 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐖𝐡𝐲’. The resource person, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐑𝐚𝐝𝐡𝐢𝐤𝐚 𝐏𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐤𝐡, 𝐚 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐬𝐭 par excellence explained the importance of case selection as well the intricacies of smile designing using veneers. She described the procedure in detail and showed an array of her case photographs.”

A one day Workshop was conducted on “𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲- 𝐀𝐧𝐚𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐮𝐞 𝐭𝐨 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐉𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐧𝐞𝐲”. The Guest speaker, Dr. Hemal K Shah provided a detailed insight into the beauty and precision of Digitally planning and executing any implant case. The intriguing lecture was followed by a Bredent SKY fast & fixed Full mouth rehabilitation Handson for undergraduate and post graduate students.”

3𝟐 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐬 and 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬, 𝐅𝐚𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐭𝐲 𝐨𝐟 𝐃𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐒𝐜𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐬 has successfully conducted a hands on Workshop on "𝐃𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐡𝐨𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐫𝐚𝐩𝐡𝐲" on 15 March 2022. Dr. Mayur Davda, was the guest speaker at the workshop. Objectives of this workshop were: 1. To know the basic rules of Dental Photography using DSLR and Mobile phone. 2. To operate a DSLR camera. Participants worked on their mobile phone and DSLR cameras. The workshop was much appreciated by the students and faculty members.

2021

32 Pearls, an academic association constituted under the Department of Prosthodontics, Faculty of Dental Sciences, SGT University announced a Value- added certificate course named “𝗔𝗻 𝗜𝗻𝘀𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁 𝗶𝗻𝘁𝗼 𝗙𝗶𝘅𝗲𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘁𝗵𝗼𝗱𝗼𝗻𝘁𝗶𝗰𝘀”. The inauguration was graced by Hon’ble Vice Chancellor Prof.(Dr.) O. P. Kalra and Advisor to SGT University, Prof. (Dr. ) Sham Singla. Eminent Prosthodontist, 𝗣𝗿𝗼𝗳. (𝗗𝗿.) 𝗩𝗲𝗲𝗻𝗮 𝗝𝗮𝗶𝗻, Head, Department of Prosthodontics, AIIMS, New Delhi. One the first day of the course, lectures were followed by demonstration on typhodont models and Hands-on workshop of tooth preparation, impression making and temporisation.

32 Pearls, An Academic Association ,constituted under Department of Prosthodontics : A new innovation, of impression materials and techniques in maxillofacialprosthetics provides higher capabilities to change the restorative dentistry. As the cases of anomalies has been advancing, it is important to acknowledge this innovative side of prosthodontics and enhance the quality of living by replicating the physiologic anatomy and morphology to original prosthesis.

"𝟑𝟐 𝐏𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐬, an academic association constituted under the Department of Prosthodontics organized a webinar on "𝟒𝐃 𝐏𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐢𝐧 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬: 𝐀𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐀𝐩𝐩𝐫𝐨𝐚𝐜𝐡" on 30th August. The speaker, 𝐃𝐫. 𝐕𝐢𝐣𝐚𝐲 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐤𝐚𝐬𝐡 is a faculty at Divya Jyoti Dental College, Modinagar, and is a renowned academician. He beautifully explained the concept of 𝟒𝐃 𝐩𝐫𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 and its application in the fabrication of various prostheses. The concept inspired faculty members and students alike to take up research in this upcoming field of dentistry."

𝟑𝟐 𝐩𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐥𝐬, an academic association constituted under 𝐃𝐞𝐩𝐭 𝐎𝐟 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐬𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐝𝐨𝐧𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐬 organised an industrial visit cum workshop to Osstem Implant India Pvt Ltd on 25th March 2021. It was an enriching experience where the delegates got to see the latest in the field of Dental Implants. 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐧𝐨𝐯𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐭𝐞𝐜𝐡𝐧𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐞𝐬 emerging in the field of 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐲 were demonstrated.

32 pearls, an academic association constituted under the Department of Prosthodontics, Crown and Bridge & Implantology in association with Indian #Prosthodontic Society Haryana State Branch organized a Webinar on "Digital Smile Design” on the occasion of #ProsthodontistDay2021. Every year 22nd January is celebrated as the #ProsthodontistDay across the country to create awareness about the specialty and encourage patients to get themselves rehabilitated. The speaker Dr. Santosh Doddamani is a renowned professor at Bapuji Dental College, Davangere with over 16 years of teaching and clinical experience. He enlightened the delegates on various intricacies of Digital Smile Designing."

2020

The Department of Prosthodontics in association with Indian Prosthodontics Society Haryana State Branch organized a Webinar on “MODALITIES IN MANAGEMENT OF SLEEP APNEA: A PROSTHODONTIST’S PERSPECTIVE” on 22nd September 2020. The interactive webinar gave an opportunity to the students to learn the modalities on management of sleep apnea. It was a learning experience for all. Dr.Umesh Pai, MDS, Prosthodontist, Manipal College Of Dental Sciences, Manglore was the guest speaker for the programme.

”32 pearls, an academic association constituted under the Department of Prosthodontics, Crown and Bridge & Implantology organised a Webinar "Post and Core Past to Present”. The speaker Dr. S. Sai Kalyan is an internationally renowned speaker. He is a Fellow of International College of Dentists, USA and Fellow of Indian board of Microrestorative and Endodontics. He is the Chief Mentor of Terna centre for Regenerative Endodontics, Terna Dental college and key opinion leader for Sifradent Italy and the Director research for Prevest Dentpro. In the session moderated by Dr. Reshu Sanan, Dr. Kalyan provided clear indications to make evidence based decisions in clinical practice. The webinar was appreciated by Post graduate students across all branches of dentistry and undergraduate Interns."

"The Department of Prosthodontics organised a campus placement drive 2020 for Leixir Resources Pvt. Ltd. on Thursday 24th December at 11 am for BDS Alumni Students. Mr. Aditya and Ms. Bhawna from the HR Department of Leixir Resources visited the campus. Various clinical situations were presented to the candidates for treatment planning for their interview."

An Academic Association constituted under the Department of Prosthodontics organized a CDE cum Workshop on "Ceramics- The Art of Layering" on 4 February 2020. The interactive workshop gave an opportunity to the students to learn the fine art of ceramic layering. It was a learning experience for all. Dr. Laxmi Kant Tiwari, professional product specialist, Dentsply Sirona was the guest speaker for the programme.

2019

Faculty of Dental Sciences organized an Orientation program for MDS Ist year students (Batch 2019) on 19th July at TV Studio, B block SGT University. Dr. Mahesh Verma graced the occasion as guest speaker. He highlighted that Post-graduation is an opportunity to grow and learn. He also stressed upon the importance of research and encouraged students for the same. All faculty members, Postgraduate students, and some University officials attended and appreciated the program.

32 Pearls, an academic association constituted under the Department of Prosthodontics organized an Industrial Visit cum Workshop on Recent Trends in Esthetic Dental Materials on 4 December 2019, at 3M Dental Lab, Gurugram. The Postgraduate students and interns got an opportunity to learn about and manipulate the newly introduced 3M impression materials.

The Department of Prosthodontics in association with Indian Prosthodontic Society, Haryana State Branch celebrated the International Day for Older Persons 1st Oct 2019 to honor the elderly patients. Many patients expressed their happiness and gratitude towards their treating Prosthodontists for rehabilitating them. Students of all batches participated in a collage competition organized with the theme "Geriatric Care". Three best collages were awarded by Pro Chancellor Sir, Dr. Sham Lal Singla. All Faculty members, Postgraduate students, and some University officials attended and appreciated the program.

CDE with Live Surgical Demonstration on “A Glimpse Into Advanced Implantology”

32 Pearls, an academic association constituted under the Department of Prosthodontics in collaboration with the Indian Prosthodontic Society, Haryana State Branch organized a CDE with live surgical demonstration “A Glimpse into Advanced Implantology” on 14th September 2019. Renowned Portuguese speaker Dr. Paulo J. R. Varela, Oral Implantologist par excellence and Master of ITI Straumann in Madrid and Bern presented his cases, placed an immediate implant in the esthetic zone, and rehabilitated the patient with a provisional prosthesis. The lecture was followed by a hands-on in Basic Implantology for student delegates."

Industrial Visit cum Workshop on Recent Trends in Esthetic Dental Materials

The second module of the Quick Start Implantology: Level 1 Clinical Implant Course being conducted by Department of Prosthodontics and Department of Oral Surgery in association with CowellMedi India commenced with an interactive lecture of Dr. KBS Kuckreja. Dr. Kuckreja is a clinician and implantologist with an experience of over 18 years. The Lecture was followed by Live Demonstration and hands on. The delegates were felicitated with certificates by Dr KBS Kuckreja, Guest Speaker Dr. Sham Singla, Pro Chancellor and Dr. M.S. Sidhu, Director IQAC SGT University.

A lecture and hands on was conducted on “Basics in Dental Implants” in collaboration with Dio Navi India. The lecture concentrated on Diagnosis and treatment planning in Dental implants followed by Hands on on Guided implant surgery. The guest speakers for the workshop were Dr Sapna Panjwani, MDS in Oral Medicine, She enlightened the delegates about the importance of diagnosis in Oral implantology and Dr Navneet Kumar, MDS in Prosthodontics, he spoke about the treatment planning and advantages of Guided Implant placement.

Comprehensive Implant Training Programme with Hands-on & Clinical Exposure on 9th to 12 th October 2017

Department of Implantology, Faculty of Dental Sciences in collaboration with world renowned Nobel Biocare started the surgical module of the "Comprehensive Implant Training Programme with Hands-on & Clinical Exposure" on 9th to 12 th October 2017.Basics of Implantology were covered in extensive Lectures taken by Dr. Anjan Shah, a well known Oral & Maxillofacial Surgeon & Implantologist for two days. Implant Placement on Dummy models was done by all delegates on Monday and Live Surgery was performed by Dr. Anjan Shah on Tuesday afternoon. Thereafter, the registered delegates placed one implant each in the patients mouth under the supervision of the faculty members.The Surgical module was followed by the Prosthetic module that was conducted after 3 months( 31st January 2018) . Dr Prafull Bali, a renowned Prosthodontist from Delhi was the guest speaker for the prosthetic module. Dr Bali lectured extensively on the prosthetic rehabilitation of dental implant followed by demonstrations. The delegates then performed the procedures in the patients under the supervision of the faculty.

Department of Prosthodontics, FODS along with Dentium conducted a CDE on "Prosthetic Challenges in Implant Dentistry" 11.09.17. Dentium Co., Ltd. is a South Korea based company which manufactures and sells implant products worldwide. This programme was sponsored by the company wherein, Dr. Tushar Chawla, the speaker from Dentium talked about prosthetic challenges commonly faced in implant dentistry and conducted a Hands-on course on implant placement on Styrofoam models and also gave a demonstration on open tray impression making procedure. The program was attended by more than 100 delegates, It was well appreciated by the audience which included interns ,PG students and private practitioners from nearby areas.

"Complete Dentures Revisited" Department of Prosthodontics, Crown & Bridge and Implantology, Faculty of Dental Sciences conducted a one day CDE Program on 19th February 2016. The Guest Speaker was Prof. (Dr.) Sabita Ram, Dean & Head of the Department, MGM College of Dental Sciences and Hospital, Navi Mumbai. A renowned Prosthodontist and academician Dr. Sabita Ram is an eminent personality in the circle of dentistry. She enhanced the knowledge of undergraduate as well as post graduate students on Complete Dentures. It was attended and appreciated by students of various colleges of Delhi-NCR.
