He is also serving as Periodontal health Convenor of Indian Society of Periodontology. The event received great response from UGs, PGs and various faculty members. The Programme started with Inauguration ceremony followed by speech of Dr. Sham Lal Singla (Advisor, SGTU) Also, there was reel and slogan writing competition for Post- graduate students and UG students of Faculty of Dental Sciences.

Perio-Unnati Association under Department of Periodontology in association with Department of Public Health Dentistry, SGT University - Faculty of Dental Sciences has organized a 𝐃𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 𝐂𝐡𝐞𝐜𝐤-𝐔𝐩 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩 at “𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐄𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐡 𝐒𝐚𝐯𝐢𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 𝐅𝐨𝐮𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧” An Internationally recognized NGO at Bhandawar village, Distt, Gurugram, Haryana on 10th March 2021. Nearly 80 patients were examined. We accomplished Our Goal of “Oral Hygiene for the Health” by Spreading awareness regarding the Importance of Oral health. Distribution of Toothpaste Samples was done. Patients were motivated to visit our hospital to get better treatment on regular basis.

Think Short Think Smart

Department of Periodontology, Faculty of Dental Sciences is organizing a Two-Day Live surgical workshop on short implants - Mind the Gap "Think Short Think Smart" on 2nd and 3rd April. On the first day, there will be a Lecture followed by a Live Suurgical demonstration of Implant Placement on patients and a Hands-On demonstration on Models. On the Second Day, Implant Placement will be done by participants in the presence of Dr. Srinivas Goli Reddy and Dr. Ashievanghuie Deboo. This scientific extravaganza will provide an academic and clinical experience to all the participants.

Department of Periodontology, Faculty of Dental Sciences successfully conducted a two-day prosthetic module of Bicon Implant placement event, the surgical module was conducted in April 2021. All the undergraduate and post-graduate participants attended the event and they themselves have done all the prosthetic preparations for each patient. The event was conducted under the supervision of Dr. Goli Srinivas Reddy, BICON Implants USA along with the faculty members of the Department of Periodontology. More such workshops are planned for the benefit of our students in future association with BICON Implants, USA.

Let's Learn Lasers

Perio Unnati Association under Department of Periodontology, Faculty of Dental Sciences, SGT University conducted a Workshop on "Let's Learn Laser" by the renowned speaker Dr. Yash Raj Bahadur from Dentsply Sirona, India Ltd. Dr. Amit Bhardwaj, Prof. & Head, Convenor, Dr. Shalini Kapoor, Prof. & Advisor, Dr. Vidushi Sheokand, Reader & Co-Advisor along with members of Perio Unnati Association took initiative to organize this live surgical demonstration and a Hands on Program with Guest Lecture. The event was graced by Dr. Sham Lal Singla, Dr Anil Gupta and Dr Shourya Tandon. Under graduate & PG students took active participation in the program by performing Laser surgeries and this has led to enhancement in clinical skills and knowledge of all the students and faculty members.

World Diabetes Day on 26 November 2021

Perio Unnati Association , Department of Periodontology , Faculty of Dental Sciences in association with Indian Society of Periodontology and Department of Public Health Dentistry celebrated World Diabetes Day on 26 November 2021 at SGT Dental Xpertz. The event was inaugurated by Dr. Sham Lal Singla along with other dignitaries. It was an awareness program conducted in order to explain patients about the relationship of diabetes and oral health. The program was supported by Colgate India and Roche. A free Random Sugar Test and Periodontal check up of approximately 100 patients were conducted by the postgraduate students of the Department of Periodotology.

This educational extravaganza had covered the most interesting topics by the eminent speakers of Indian Society of Periodontology. Dr. Amit Bhardwaj, organising Chairperson welcomed all the guests and delegates. Dr. Mandeep Yadav, Secretary IDA Gurugram branch was invited as Guest of Honour. Dr. Anirban Chatterjee,President of Indian Society of Periodontology, enlightened the clinicians and budding dentists on topic "Management of Dentinal Hypersesnsitivity". Dr. H.S Grover delivered a guest lecture on "Periodontal Decision Making Algorithms". "Endo-Perio Magic" was uncovered by Dr. Anil Melath. Dr. Nitin Dani has delivered lecture on "Prosthetic and Periodontitis......Can they go hand in hand?". Dr. Ashish Jain has delivered guest lecture on "When Diabetic Patient Walks in to Your Clinic". Dr. Abhay Kolte has delivered guest lecture on "Pretreatment evaluation in Implant Dentistry". Dr. Shalini Kapoor. Organising Secretary proposed vote of thanks . There were around 150 delegates registered for the event from various dental colleges of Delhi NCR region. It was a great educational extravaganza in an offline mode post pandemic.

The students of BDS batch of 2017 organised ‘Adios Amigos’

The Department of Periodontology, Faculty of Dental Sciences along with the students of BDS batch of 2017 organised ‘Adios Amigos’ - farewell for the batch of 2016 on November 15, 2021. The event was graced by the presence of Dr. Sham Lal Singla formerly Vice Chancellor and Chancellor currently Advisor and Director simulation and newer learning and teaching methodologies, Dr. Sharif Ahmed, Pro Vice Chancellor research, Dr. Anil Gupta, Dean Faculty of Dental Sciences and HOD’s of various departments along with the respected faculty members. The event began with the lighting of the auspicious lamp followed by orchestred performances including dance and singing by the outgoing and the current batch of interns. The outgoing interns were presented with the college momento, a gift and a title by their juniors. The function ended with felicitation of the winners and a cake cutting ceremony.

Day 2 of Live Surgical Implant

Department of Periodontology, SGT University - Faculty of Dental Sciences on Day 2 of Live Surgical Implant Workshop placed 10 Dental Implants in Patients as part of 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐡𝐨𝐧 in which the participants got the opportunity to place dental implants independently under the guidance of Dr. Srinivas Goli Reddy and Dr. Ashievanghuie Deboo. Udergraduate Students got nice exposure of implant placement and has led to a great experience gained by all the participants and brought fruitful end to this workshop.

A Mega Dental Check-up was organized for the Staff of Transport Departments of 𝐒𝐆𝐓 𝐔𝐧𝐢𝐯𝐞𝐫𝐬𝐢𝐭𝐲 and free samples of toothpaste were distributed to them by the 𝐃𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐚𝐫𝐢𝐞𝐬. All the Faculty members and 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭 𝐆𝐫𝐚𝐝𝐮𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐬𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐬 of the Department of Periodontology educated the audience about the maintenance of Oral Hygiene. Perio Unnati Association under Department of Periodontology, SGT University - Faculty of Dental Sciences has organized “An Industrial Visit to Dentsply Sirona Pvt Ltd Gurugram” on 21.2.2021. This visit has enhanced the #knowledge of students in terms of various latest equipment’s available in #dentistry and provided nice exposure of newer technologies emerging in the field of dentistry. #students have performed Hand-On session with latest #equipments. This industry-academia visit has imposed great effect on students.

10th November- Demonstration of Prosthetic Part of Implant surgery ( Bicon Implants) by Dr. Reddy.

Department Of Periodontology, Faculty of Dental Sciences, SGT University in continuation with the live surgical_workshop which was held in January 2020 in collaboration with Bicon Short Implants, USA on 10th November 2020 conducted the Second Stage Surgery i.e Prosthetic treatment. It was a great learning session. The lecture and live demonstration was done by Dr. Goli Srinivas Reddy. The event concluded with enthusiastic participation by faculty members and the students.

1st August- Guest Lecture on Oran Hygiene and Health… connecting the dots.

The Oral Hygiene Day was introduced to commemorate the birth anniversary of the doyen of Indian Periodontics and founder of Indian Society of Periodontology (ISP), Dr G.B Shankwalkar who was born on 1st August. The primary objective is to spread the message of oral health and it's importance. On this occasion, the Department Of Periodontology, Faculty of Dental Sciences, SGT University is organizing an expert talk on "Oral hygiene and health... connecting the dots" by Prof(Dr) Vikram Blaggana followed by poster competition for BDS students.

Department of Periodontology, Faculty of Dental Sciences, SGT University has Organized an Inter-University Webinar series "ACADEMIC ON PANDEMIC" on the topic "Implications for Clinical Dental Care During COVID-19" in association with KIIT University, Bhubneshwar on June 3, 2020 from 10.00 am onwards. PG students from both the University will be benefitted by this event.

24th Feb- Guest Lecture on Antimicrobial Resistance.

Department of Periodontology, Faculty of Dental Sciences, SGT University organized a guest lecture in association with GSK Consumer Health Care, India on 'ANTIMICROBIAL RESISTANCE' on 24 February 2020. Prof. (Dr.) Vijay Bhalla, Principal, SGT College of Pharmacy delivered a lecture on Antimicrobial resistance. He emphasized on the global burden of antimicrobial resistance and explained the role of dentists as an important stakeholder. He delivered a stimulating speech to BDS final year students, Interns, postgraduates and faculty members of the Department of Periodontology.

Department of Periodontology, FDS, SGT University, organized 2 days live surgical workshop and Hands-on in association with Bicon Short Implants, culminated an august gathering of HODs of various colleges, private practitioners and postgraduates of various specialties. The CDE program started with the blessings of almighty. Prof and Head, Department of Periodontology, Dr. Amit Bhardwaj, and Organizing Chairperson warmly welcomed the gathering and the Dignitaries. Day 1 of scientific extravaganza started with great zeal and enthusiasm of the stalwarts of various specialties. The Guest Speakers, Dr. Vincent J Morgan, and Dr. Laura Murcko delivered an amazing lecture on the bicon implant system. The lecture was followed by live surgery which was performed by Dr. Srinivas Reddy and Dr. Ashievanghuie Deboo. The event culminated with enthusiastic participation in hands-on by the students from more than 10 colleges of Delhi- NCR and SGT. Day 2 of the CDE program started with the lecture by guest speaker Dr. Laura Murcko and Dr. Vincent J Morgan followed by the hands-on by Dr. Srinivas Reddy and Dr. Ashievanghuie Deboo. The author of the book 'The Bicon Short Implant' himself rewarded the faculty members of different departments of dental faculty. The event concluded with enthusiastic participation throughout the CDE by faculty and the students’.

Guest lecture on 'Sensitizing Hypersensitivity' in association with GSK

Department of Periodontology, Faculty of Dental Sciences, SGT University organized a guest lecture in association with GSK Consumer Health Care, India and ISP Study Group, Delhi- NCR on 'Sensitizing Hypersensitivity'. Dr. Manish Khatri, Vice President ISP, Treasurer ISP Study Group Delhi- NCR and Prof. & Head, Department of Periodontology, IDST, Modinagar (UP) was the guest speaker for the event. He introduced the audience to a vast range of treatment modalities for Dentinal Hypersensitivity, emphasizing on Novamin technology. Faculty members, Post Graduates and Under Graduates participated in full spirit. It was a well-appreciated exposure on the most prevalent yet ignored dental condition - Hypersensitivity. The event was informative and enriching.

CDE cum Workshop on "Advanced Implantology and Sinus Lift Latest Technique" by Dr. Sung Min Chung, founder and Developer of Dentium Implant on 8th January 2019.

Department of Periodontology, FDS in association with Dentium and IDA organized a CDE cum Workshop which culminised an enormous gathering of academician, private practitioners , post graduate students and Interns. The gathering was graced by the Dignitaries Dr Sung Min Chung , Dr Lim Bjong Yeol, Dr. Mandeep Yadav( Hon. Secretary, IDA- Gurugram Branch) and Dr Tushar Chawla. Our guiding leaders Dr.M.S.Sidhu (Dean, Research and Development, Director IQAC) and Dr Anil Gupta ( Dean, FDS) presided over the ceremony. Prof and Head, Department of Periodontology, Dr Priyanka Chopra, Organizing Chairperson warmly welcomed the gathering  and the Dignitaries.  More than 250 delegates attended the enriching scientific extravaganza on "Advanced Implantology and Sinus Lift Latest Technique" by Dr. Sung Min Chung who is the founder and Developer of Dentium Implant. This was followed by an effective lecture and  full fledged hands on session by Dr. Tushar Chawla ( Key Speaker, Dentium). From an operator stand point, every surgical technique comes with a learning curve, and this CDE cum Workshop was indeed a great learning experience by the expertise with more than 75 delegates successfully completing the  hands on course.

Supriya Manvi, Dr. Manish Khatri , Dr. Priyanka Chopra, Dr. Harsha Jain & Dr. Preeti Upadhyay delivered  effective and enlightening lectures on Bone Augmentation and Short Implants which was followed by live surgical demonstration for short implants. Day 2 of the scientific extravaganza started with the live surgical demonstration of implants by Dr. Joji Markose and Dr. Supriya  Manvi which was presented in a way which was structured, detailed and  paced very well. This was followed by  eye opening lectures by Dr. Joji Markose and Dr. Supriya Manvi which were highly informative and based on the newer trends in implantology. The lecture was followed by the live demonstration of prosthetic component of short implants. The programme was indeed a great success and a learning experience imparted by the stalwarts of various specialties.

• Workshop on Piezosurgery: Principles, Planning & hands-on in association with Acteon by guest speaker Dr. Nymphea Pandit, Prof & HOD, DAV Dental College, Yamuna Nagar on 10th February 2018.
• Dr. Robert A. Horowitz, DDS, Assistant Professor Periodontolgy & Implant dentistry, New York University as adjunct Professor in department of Periodontology conducted Live Surgical Workshop on the “Dental Hard and Soft Tissue Regeneration-Current Trends” on the 23rd March 2018. This workshop was organized in collaboration with department of Periodontology, department of Oral surgery and department of Prosthodontics.
