Webinar on Questionnaire Designing in Research

Research has become an integral part of the Academic Curriculum. Both Postgraduates and Undergraduates should be motivated to take scientifically sound research at their respective levels. The hierarchy of evidence suggests that Descriptive Survey/Study form the stepping stone when it comes to research. A Questionnaire should be Scientifically Constructed, Valid, and Reliable enough to be given sound Research Output. Keeping this in mind INNOVA8 Oral Health Care, an academic association constituted under the Department of Public Health Dentistry, Faculty of Dental Sciences, SGT University organized a webinar on the topic “Questionnaire Designing in Research” in hybrid mode on 10th February 2022 from 11 am to 1 pm for BDS third Year, BDS final year,  Interns and Post Graduates. The guest speaker was Dr. Tanushri Dalvi (Assistant Professor, Department of Public Health Dentistry, Bharati Vidyapeeth (to be deemed) Sangli, Maharashtra. She covered various aspects of Types of Research Designs, Questionnaire Designing, and Various Aspects of collecting responses.

The organization and conduction of the event were undertaken by the office bearers of the academic association. Student Secretary of the association & BDS Final year student, Mr. Mukul Mahalwal was the Master of Ceremony and the speaker was introduced by BDS Final Year student Mr. Ishan Taneja, student representative of the academic association. The vote of thanks was delivered by BDS Final year student Ms. Anchal Gupta, student executive member of the academic association. The Convener of the event was Dr. Abhinav Bhargava, co-advisor of the academic association. Dr. Anil Gupta, Dean, Faculty of Dental Sciences graced the occasion and gave his valuable insight. Dr. Shourya Tandon, Associate Dean & Professor, and Head, Department of Public Health Dentistry gave his insightful remarks and rightfully justified the need to undertake such webinars to make undergraduates and postgraduates aware of the scientific basis of Questionnaires in Descriptive Design in the field of Research. The webinar was attended both physically and virtually by over 150 participants mainly Faculty members, Postgraduates, Interns, final year students, third-year students. The event was a fruitful and interactive learning session; the participants asked their queries and were provided with satisfactory answers by the speaker. The webinar was appreciated by students and interns for the valuable and relevant information and left the participants wanting to apply the gained knowledge practically in their respective research Endeavours.
